Terms of use

These terms govern the use of Lascuarenta.es (The Forty), a platform for traditional Spanish-deck card games owned by Adrián Muñoz (Lascuarenta.es). By creating an account or using the service, you enter into a contract with that owner and accept these terms and the privacy policy.

You need an account to play online. You must provide truthful information and keep your login confidential, and you are responsible for any activity carried out with it. The minimum age to register is 14.

You can delete your account at any time from the privacy page.

Insults, harassment, discrimination, impersonation, cheating, automation and repeatedly abandoning games are not allowed.

Any unlawful, fraudulent or abusive use of the service is also forbidden: sending spam, infringing intellectual property rights, introducing malicious software, probing or interfering with our security, or mass data scraping.

Table chat is moderated, and breaches may lead to warnings, temporary mutes or account suspension, applied proportionately and with the chance to appeal by email.

Sotas are an internal virtual currency with no monetary value: they cannot be exchanged for money, transferred outside the platform, or claimed as a prize. There is no betting or real-money gambling.

Sotas are obtained by purchase or occasionally as a gift for playing. They are never withdrawn as a penalty: they're only deducted when you spend them or when the purchase that granted them is refunded.

The PRO plan gives cosmetic perks and removes ads for one year from purchase. It is a one-off payment: there is no auto-renewal or subscription to cancel, and it expires automatically on the date shown in your account.

Prices are shown in euros and include applicable taxes based on your country of residence, calculated at the time of payment. Digital content (Sotas, cosmetics and the PRO plan) is delivered immediately once payment is confirmed.

You can request a refund of a purchase within 14 days in accordance with our refund policy.

The ordering process is handled by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles customer service enquiries and manages returns.

The service is provided as is, with reasonable diligence to keep it available, without guaranteeing uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may interrupt it for maintenance or improvements. We are not liable for indirect damages or loss of game results caused by factors beyond our control.

The rules of traditional card games are public-domain cultural heritage. The design, code, text, brand and card artwork on this platform are original, belong to the service owner and are protected. You are granted only a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of personal use, with no resale or reverse engineering.

We may suspend or cancel access in cases of serious or repeated breach of these terms, non-payment or wrongful chargeback, risk of fraud or security, or where required by law. Where proportionate, we will warn you beforehand and give you a chance to respond.

Spanish and European consumer legislation applies. You can send any complaint to hola@lascuarenta.es (The Forty) and, if unresolved, to the competent consumer bodies of your place of residence.
