Traditional Games of the Valencian Community

Truc (Valencian Truco) is the Valencian Community’s signature traditional game and part of social life in community clubs, social groups and Fallas associations. It is played in pairs, with wagers and facial signals used to communicate between partners. Tute (a trick-taking card game), Mus (a bluffing card game), Escoba (Sweep) and Burro (Donkey) are also widely played.
Truc
Noise, bluffing and gestures. Truc is all about being sociable: you learn by watching older players, and it is passed down from generation to generation. We explain how to play in Valencian Truc and compare it with the Argentinian version in Truco argentino (Argentinian Truco) vs Valencian Truc.
Other Local Games
- Tute, in its many versions.
- Mus, very popular with young people.
- Escoba, for playing with the family.
- Burro, a must when playing with children.
