What is Baza (trick)?

A baza (trick) is the set of cards played in one round, one per player; whoever plays the highest card (or the highest trump) takes it.

Tricks are the basic unit of trick-taking games such as Tute, Guiñote, Brisca and Cuatrola. The winner collects the cards, adds up their points and leads the next trick.

At the end of the hand, the points of all tricks won by each player or pair are counted. In many games the last trick is worth ten extra points: the 'diez de últimas'.
