Hispania Deck

A journey through the cultures that shaped the peninsula

The Hispania Deck travels through four eras of peninsular history across forty-eight cards. Each suit keeps the traditional structure and gets its own historical identity. The value is recognised first; the details of each illustration come after.

The coins evoke Roman Hispania through coins, legionaries and emperors. The cups recall the legacy of Al-Ándalus with red chalices, arabesques and Andalusi-inspired figures. The swords represent the Visigothic world with blue steel, shields and warriors, while the clubs are linked to the Iberian peoples through ornamented maces, leaves and green tones.

The numbering appears in both corners and the light backgrounds keep readability fast on a phone screen. The aces name each culture, and the jacks, knaves and kings complete the journey with clothing, weapons and mounts distinct to each suit.

The two jokers show an ancient map of the peninsula and a crowned lion. They're used as distinct cards in Chinchón. In every other game, Hispania keeps the same rules and values as any Spanish deck on the site.
